An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Souto in the 7th minute of play forced Esporte Clube Zeus's goalkeeper Chico Răica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esporte Clube Zeus's Chico Răica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Souto in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Inter Gala's goalkeeper Eduardo Baiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luan Campidelis. Luan Campidelis might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eduardo Baiano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luan Campidelis ran back to his position shaking his head. Chico Răica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 22 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Zeus's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Rodrigues came free, but Chico Răica reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Inter Gala's goal looked a bit too open when Luan Campidelis came free, but Eduardo Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luan Campidelis in the 27th minute of play forced Inter Gala's goalkeeper Eduardo Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luan Campidelis took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eduardo Baiano. Eduardo Baiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Chico Răica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Mendonça in the 41st minute of the match. Eurico Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Chico Răica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After a rather tough play, Esporte Clube Zeus's Claudio Caniggia got a free kick in the 46th minute. The supporters of Inter Gala booed when Esporte Clube Zeus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Caniggia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heinz Stalder struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Chico Răica didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter Gala. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Chico Răica made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Heinz Stalder sent off a good shot on target. Chico Răica took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inter Gala's Dênis Cavalcante was substituted for Alfredão Brasil. After a rather tough play, Esporte Clube Zeus's Eurico Cardozo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Gustavo Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chico Răica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Mendonça in the 76th minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Inter Gala's Edgar Souto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chico Răica made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Cristóvão Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Heinz Stalder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Chico Răica tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Chico Răica successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Richard Mendonça hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Esporte Clube Zeus defense, Edgar Souto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chico Răica. The Esporte Clube Zeus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chico Răica should have stopped the shot. Edgar Souto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Chico Răica firmly grabbed it by the left post. Inter Gala played a much better game than Esporte Clube Zeus and deserved their victory. The Esporte Clube Zeus players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
