Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Matadores FC's Nilton Fontes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Matadores FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Matadores FC's Aloísio Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto de Mendonça in the 35th minute of play. Túlio Porto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. When Alan Coutinho came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Tapera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Coutinho couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Matadores FC's Válbson Sarmento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Túlio Porto. That made the score 0-9 after 84 minutes of play. Rogério Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Porto having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Válbson Sarmento got free with Túlio Porto in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erivaldo Moreno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Túlio Porto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play.
