Jefferson da Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulão Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Célio Motta in the 9th minute of the match. Carbonita's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Célio Motta in the 10th minute. The corner led Carbonita's Célio Motta to fire away a dangerous shot which Paulão Corrêa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hermínio Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeu Barbosa in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Carbonita getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Célio Motta hit a great ball. Hermínio Machado was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Percival Magalhães. In the 23rd minute of the match, Patrick Barral got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hermínio Machado was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hermínio Machado made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Romeu Barbosa sent off a good shot on target. Romeu Barbosa scored 3-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hermínio Machado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 36 minutes, Patrick Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lakers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hermínio Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeu Barbosa in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Patrick Barral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hermínio Machado. Carbonita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrick Barral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Lakers FC's Paulão Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jefferson da Cunha in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Célio Motta was the one to do the kick off. Elder Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Paulão Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Lakers FC's goalkeeper Paulão Corrêa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jefferson da Cunha. After 60 played minutes Lakers FC got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar de Senna. In the 64th minute, Célio Motta made a precise shot to the right of Paulão Corrêa. Lakers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. 69 minutes into the match, Lakers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Célio Motta came free, but Paulão Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lakers FC's Paulão Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Lakers FC from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd match minute, Carbonita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elder Souto to maneuver through the defense. After 74 played minutes Carbonita got a freekick which was hit by Jefferson da Cunha. Paulão Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 79 minutes Lakers FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Célio Motta who took care of the corner kick. In the 87th minute of the match, Célio Motta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paulão Corrêa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 4-2 became the score in the 89th minute when Jefferson da Cunha elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 94 minutes into the game, Carbonita's Célio Motta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulão Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lakers FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Carbonita had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
