When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Andrzej Zaworski took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Frédson Paraíba to make any attempt to save it. Luizinho de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22nd play minutes Andrzej Zaworski shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Frédson Paraíba and just under the crossbar into goal. After some careless play in the Capanema EC defense, Caetano Cordeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frédson Paraíba. The Capanema EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frédson Paraíba should have stopped the shot. Doriva da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Fernandes in the 40th minute of play. When Gregorio Indar fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Antuérpia SC's protests and gave Gregorio Indar a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Antuérpia SC! In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for Capanema EC. Silvério Ceresso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Doriva da Fonseca. 7-1. Frédson Paraíba stood somewhat misplaced when Andrzej Zaworski came free in front of goal and shot 8-1 to the left of him in the 45 minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 8-1.

After 73 minutes of play, Antuérpia SC's Caetano Cordeiro made it 11-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frédson Paraíba was left in no man's land by his defense there! Antuérpia SC made a substitution. Mala Kicia replaced Luizinho de Toledo. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Doriva Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capanema EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Doriva Reis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doriva da Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andrzej Zaworski might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frédson Paraíba. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrzej Zaworski ran back to his position shaking his head. Doriva da Fonseca made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Doriva Reis sent off a good shot on target. In the 95th minute, Luiz Jacinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wilton Catarinense's late challenge caught a Antuérpia SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilton Catarinense helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th minute, Wilton Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
