Maximino Curcio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Vasconcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After 28 minutes of play, Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF's Raimundo Vasconcelos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maximino Curcio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 35th minute of the match Fernandão Neiva sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maximino Curcio skillfully saved the ball. After 44 played minutes Navegantes Sporting got a freekick which was hit by Agnaldo da Mata. The Navegantes Sporting players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raimundo Vasconcelos made a kick off. Felipe Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Gildo Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Navegantes Sporting's Agnaldo da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dagoberto Hermes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 54 minutes had been played. After 55 played minutes Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Dagoberto Hermes. When Juninho Costa came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Navegantes Sporting fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juninho Costa couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Agnaldo da Mata left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Navegantes Sporting fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Navegantes Sporting's Juninho Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maximino Curcio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raimundo Vasconcelos in the 73rd minute. Váldson Berger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maximino Curcio having to make a save. Juninho Costa's late challenge caught a Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juninho Costa helped the player get up and apologised. Gildo Tróia came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Navegantes Sporting's William Pinheiro. But to his dismay, William Pinheiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF booed when Navegantes Sporting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Bolados didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF's Anderson Gonçalves got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute of the match Agnaldo da Mata sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gildo Tróia skillfully saved the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
