The referee ignored RACING FBPA's protests and gave Jonathan Borges a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to RACING FBPA getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Jonathan Borges hit a great ball. When Wesley Dante came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Aster Brasil Futebol Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wesley Dante couldn't finish the play. Rigoberto Vilaprenyo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anísio Souza came out and tried to block the shot, but Rigoberto Vilaprenyo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 12th minute. In the 16th minute Rigoberto Vilaprenyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anísio Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 minutes RACING FBPA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Julio Lopes who took care of the corner kick. Duarte Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Dante in the 21st minute of the match. The corner led Aster Brasil Futebol Club's Julio Lopes to fire away a dangerous shot which Duarte Carneiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, RACING FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Nogueira came free, but Duarte Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duarte Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldo Leão hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. The supporters of RACING FBPA booed when Aster Brasil Futebol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leander Heidemann didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Jorginho Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot. RACING FBPA's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorginho Campidelis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anísio Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

RACING FBPA's Duarte Carneiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save RACING FBPA from getting a goal against them. After having played for 57 minutes, Gilberto Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aster Brasil Futebol Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anísio Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho Campidelis in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Vilaprenyo in the 86th minute of play forced Aster Brasil Futebol Club's goalkeeper Anísio Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RACING FBPA's Jorginho Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
