A throw-in in the 18th minute of the game was made by Julio Lopes with Nafiz Tekke as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 20 minutes into the match, Navegantes Sporting's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Nogueira came free, but Maximino Curcio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Aster Brasil Futebol Club getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Oswaldo Coutinho hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Aster Brasil Futebol Club's zone, Felipe Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Souza came out of the goal and Felipe Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute Oswaldo Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximino Curcio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 minutes, Felipe Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Navegantes Sporting and the Aster Brasil Futebol Club players grew even worse after the yellow card.
