Valmir Fahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Nascimento in the 9th minute of play. Clube de Jogadores's Luís Eduardo Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wellington Albuquerque in the 10th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Cabral got free with Valmir Fahl in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Eduardo Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cleiton Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Clube de Jogadores's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fynn Vogt was slow to take the kick. During this time cavine-- f.c.'s players had a chance to rest. cavine-- f.c.'s Fynn Vogt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luís Eduardo Damião in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mathias Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Luís Eduardo Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Cleiton Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dênis Valle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valmir Fahl came out and tried to block the shot, but Dênis Valle slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 33rd minute. Valmir Fahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Nascimento in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Clube de Jogadores's Róbson Vinhas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Róbson Vinhas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Clube de Jogadores protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Róbson Vinhas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 39th minute, one of Clube de Jogadores:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Clube de Jogadores. After 44 played minutes Clube de Jogadores got a freekick which was hit by Dedé Lira. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dênis Valle was the one to do the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Clube de Jogadores booed when cavine-- f.c. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleiton Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball.
