It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Aníbal Marquez kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes into the game, Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Severino Oliveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcus Dias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Silas Veiga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Durval de Almeida, made in the 9th minute of the game. 10 minutes into the match, Severino Oliveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcus Dias. Caneleiros FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Oliveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Urbano in the 14th minute of play forced Caneleiros FC's goalkeeper Marcus Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Dias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leopoldo Urbano went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 20th minute, Sérgio Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, Caneleiros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Oliveira came free, but Marcus Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Luisinho Lima got control of the ball when Teodoro Carioca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ferroviaria de Araraquara's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Aníbal Marquez 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. Luisinho Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Marquez in the 29th minute of play. Luisinho Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Marquez in the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Leopoldo Urbano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Dias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ronaldão de Barros's late challenge caught a Ferroviaria de Araraquara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldão de Barros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th match minute, Caneleiros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldão de Barros to maneuver through the defense. After 37 played minutes, Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Tomás Prata shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcus Dias came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ferroviaria de Araraquara reached it. Serginho Carneiro made in the 40th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Teodoro Carioca however managed to control. Marcus Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Ferroviaria de Araraquara's goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Maciel came free, but Luisinho Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leopoldo Urbano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Aníbal Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Severino Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 68 played minutes Caneleiros FC got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Dias. Leopoldo Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Marcus Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Edmílson Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luisinho Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leopoldo Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Arí Azevedo was substituted for Tomás Prata. With a little luck, Caneleiros FC's Marcus Dias got control of the ball when Severino Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caneleiros FC's Marcus Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Urbano in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute of the match, Severino Oliveira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcus Dias was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Leopoldo Urbano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcus Dias. That made the score 1-6 after 88 minutes of play. Teodoro Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisinho Lima having to interfere. When the match was over Ferroviaria de Araraquara could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Caneleiros FC throughout the match.
