Raimundo Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Caneleiros da Várzea! 2-0 came through a penalty shot after 21 played minutes, when Botafogo:s 龚松川 calmly waited for Caneleiros da Várzea:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flávio Bueno in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manoel Lago saved Botafogo from getting behind. In the 26th match minute, Caneleiros da Várzea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráuzio Silveira to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by 龚松川 in the 27th minute of play forced Caneleiros da Várzea's goalkeeper Raimundo Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raimundo Falcão stood somewhat misplaced when 龚松川 came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 31 minute. Rony Madureira hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. If Wellington Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Botafogo's Manoel Lago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rony Madureira in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Wellington Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Raimundo Falcão. Caneleiros da Várzea's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 47 minutes into the game, 龚松川 recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Raimundo Falcão. 龚松川 showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flávio Bueno to make the kick off. 龚松川 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Raimundo Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 57 minutes Caneleiros da Várzea's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was 龚松川 who took care of the corner kick. José Maria da Silva thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Raimundo Falcão, a very annoying self made goal in the 57th minute which led to 6-0. If Radu Carabulea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Manoel Lago made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rony Madureira in the 64th minute. Raimundo Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 龚松川, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 龚松川 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 70 minutes into the game, 龚松川 cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Raimundo Falcão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 77th minute, Radu Carabulea made a precise shot to the right of Raimundo Falcão. Caneleiros da Várzea's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. 81 minutes into the match, Caneleiros da Várzea's goal looked a bit too open when 龚松川 came free, but Raimundo Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Caneleiros da Várzea defense, 龚松川 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raimundo Falcão. The Caneleiros da Várzea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raimundo Falcão should have stopped the shot. Raimundo Falcão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 龚松川's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. The Botafogo fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Botafogo's 龚松川 looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 10-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 97 minutes, 肖远平 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botafogo's supporters crossed their fingers, but 肖远平 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
