The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Raimundo Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viktor Ambrosetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to OLIMPIA SP getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Álvaro Travassos hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Jiří Brázdil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ubatuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Jiří Brázdil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo Couto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cecilio Manny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Augusto Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Natã do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvaldo Trevisan struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Raimundo Couto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ubatuba. 17 minutes into the match, OLIMPIA SP's goalkeeper Raimundo Couto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Paulo Pereira. Hermínio Quadros hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The supporters of OLIMPIA SP booed when Ubatuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renatinho de Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Raimundo Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raimundo Couto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Viktor Ambrosetti went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Yan do Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ubatuba booed when OLIMPIA SP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ubatuba's Valdomiro Barros got a free kick in the 37th minute. Cecilio Manny took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raimundo Couto. Raimundo Couto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 45 minutes into the match, OLIMPIA SP's goalkeeper Raimundo Couto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edvaldo Trevisan. After 46 minutes OLIMPIA SP's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jiří Brázdil who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ubatuba's Jiří Brázdil to fire away a dangerous shot which Raimundo Couto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexandre Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Cecilio Manny got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Paulo Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Raimundo Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Alexandre Amaral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yan do Valle. Ubatuba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre Amaral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. OLIMPIA SP's Marcelinho Madureira was substituted for Carlos Fernando Pereira. Álvaro Travassos's late challenge caught a Ubatuba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Álvaro Travassos helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to OLIMPIA SP getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Álvaro Travassos hit a great ball. In the 66th match minute, OLIMPIA SP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Travassos to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viktor Ambrosetti in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raimundo Couto saved OLIMPIA SP from getting behind. When Armando Tavares fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ubatuba's protests and gave Armando Tavares a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Amaral in the 71st minute of play forced Ubatuba's goalkeeper Yan do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, OLIMPIA SP's goal looked a bit too open when Viktor Ambrosetti came free, but Raimundo Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundo Couto came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Ubatuba's Luiz Paulo Pereira. But to his dismay, Luiz Paulo Pereira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Raimundo Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 91st minute, OLIMPIA SP's Rafael de Andrade seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rafael de Andrade the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of OLIMPIA SP protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rafael de Andrade had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 90th minute, one of OLIMPIA SP:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for OLIMPIA SP. In the 96th minute, Cecilio Manny left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ubatuba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. When the referee ended the match the Ubatuba players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
