In the 42nd minute Vatan Kambay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Asmund Nyvold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gianluigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Donato in the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andriy Shevchenko to strike the kick off in the second half. A.D Leônico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Asmund Nyvold ran over to the corner to take the kick. André Luiz de Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ. When Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ's Arnaldo Alsua in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Arnaldo Alsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, A.D Leônico's Jan-Åke Blomberg got a free kick in the 89th minute. The supporters of A.D Leônico booed when Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duda Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Donato in the 93rd minute of play forced Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Catarinense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnaldo Alsua in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Luiz de Barros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew the final whistle, Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ could leave the field as winners, despite A.D Leônico having more of the ball for most of the match.
