Beto Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Mandrak in the 41st minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, EDI MZB's Hortêncio Mandrak nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beto Teixeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 46th minute, Dennis Roelfs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

EDI MZB's Osvaldo Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Arce in the 52nd minute of play. Osvaldo Neto came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Itajaí Football Club's Gilberto Arce. But to his dismay, Gilberto Arce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Leonardo Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Osvaldo Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Itajaí Football Club's Carlos Eduardo da Costa was substituted for Leonardo Varela. 58 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Beto Teixeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nurkan Bayar. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio Mandrak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beto Teixeira was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Gilberto Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itajaí Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tao Li Zhen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Beto Teixeira made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio Mandrak in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Beto Teixeira saved Itajaí Football Club from getting behind. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Hortêncio Mandrak sped through Itajaí Football Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Beto Teixeira. 66 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Abreu came free, but Osvaldo Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in EDI MZB's zone, Rubens Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Neto came out of the goal and Rubens Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nurkan Bayar got free with Beto Teixeira in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Eduardo da Costa in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldo Neto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 76 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Abreu came free, but Osvaldo Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rubens Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
