C.'s Silvestre Oro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Penha in the 12th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Sport Clube Recife's goal looked a bit too open when Oséias Nascimento came free, but Percy Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oséias Nascimento was the one to do the kick off. Silvestre Oro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Penha in the 50th minute of play. 50 minutes into the match, Gualter Penha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvestre Oro. Varadouro F. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gualter Penha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Silvestre Oro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doctor Strange in the 61st minute of the match. Silvestre Oro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualter Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After having played for 63 minutes, Dong Yang Bang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Clube Recife's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dong Yang Bang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Inácio Miranda replaced Primitivo Chorche. When Doctor Strange came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Sport Clube Recife fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doctor Strange couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sport Clube Recife had played much better football throughout.
