Lütfi Kutlubay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio FBPA. 11 minutes into the match, Pipis Karapatakis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lütfi Kutlubay. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pipis Karapatakis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Grêmio FBPA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Thibault Delanoë took the corner. The corner led Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Thibault Delanoë to fire away a dangerous shot which Jardel Sanches despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lütfi Kutlubay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 19th minute of play. Jardel Sanches made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Thibault Delanoë sent off a good shot on target. Jardel Sanches came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Thibault Delanoë. But to his dismay, Thibault Delanoë quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Lütfi Kutlubay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 25th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pipis Karapatakis in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lütfi Kutlubay saved Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa from getting behind. In the 29th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Locaio to maneuver through the defense. Thibault Delanoë was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Lütfi Kutlubay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darío Pereyra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luciano Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's zone, Pipis Karapatakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lütfi Kutlubay came out of the goal and Pipis Karapatakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Jardel Sanches had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chiquinho Pombal. Jardel Sanches made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when 狄轩鹏 sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA booed when Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pipis Karapatakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grêmio FBPA's Nestor Leão quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luciano Maciel, made in the 42nd minute of the game. Lütfi Kutlubay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pipis Karapatakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chiquinho Pombal to make the kick off. Pipis Karapatakis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Lütfi Kutlubay made a huge save. Jardel Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 狄轩鹏, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Burak Onal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Sanches having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's goalkeeper Lütfi Kutlubay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pipis Karapatakis. In the 66th match minute, Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Maciel to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Claudinei Terra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lütfi Kutlubay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 81st minute. After some careless play in the Grêmio FBPA defense, Chiquinho Pombal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jardel Sanches. The Grêmio FBPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jardel Sanches should have stopped the shot. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Darío Pereyra was slow to take the kick. During this time Grêmio FBPA's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Ted Hoogenkamp heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. A collision led to Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Luciano Maciel hit a great ball.
