Spectators: 8126 (Terracing: 6096, Seating: 1869, VIP seats: 161) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gísli Langnickel started the match with the kick off. Remigio Finlay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Vicente Linares made a huge save. Lance Cabezas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Linares having to interfere. Carlinhos Freitas came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by PiuPiu's Ezequiel Soeiro. But to his dismay, Ezequiel Soeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some careless play in the PiuPiu defense, Remigio Finlay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vicente Linares. The PiuPiu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vicente Linares should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 22 minutes into the game, when Aleksejs Vērīgais put in a rough tackle. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AA GUARULHOS! AA GUARULHOS:s Carlinhos Freitas showed great skill when he stopped Fernandão Zonta:s penalty. The supporters of AA GUARULHOS booed when PiuPiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Emanuel Veloso threw the ball into play from the sideline. AA GUARULHOS's Owen Ramsden quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. PiuPiu's Vicente Linares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save PiuPiu from getting a goal against them. AA GUARULHOS's Carlinhos Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gísli Langnickel in the 48th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fletcher Greenan to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, PiuPiu's goal looked a bit too open when Lance Cabezas came free, but Vicente Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlinhos Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandão Zonta in the 53rd minute of the match. After 60 minutes of play, AA GUARULHOS's Lance Cabezas made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vicente Linares was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 68 minutes PiuPiu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jacobo Porfirio who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Owen Ramsden almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but PiuPiu's Vicente Linares did a great save. After 72 played minutes PiuPiu got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Senna. Lance Cabezas struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Vicente Linares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AA GUARULHOS. Fletcher Greenan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Vicente Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, PiuPiu's Ezequiel Soeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlinhos Freitas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Lance Cabezas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, Fletcher Greenan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vicente Linares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. In the 93rd match minute, PiuPiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Senna to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the game, Waldemar Senna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PiuPiu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AA GUARULHOS the free kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. AA GUARULHOS had won after a very even match.
