The audience thought a goal was coming when Faustão Terra got free with Shi Yong Xiang in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Shi Yong Xiang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior Garcia in the 12th minute of play. Léo Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas Gomes in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Gomes in the 14th minute of play forced Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Léo Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 minutes, Faustão Terra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Misericordia EC and the C.A. RIBEIRÃO players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of C.A. RIBEIRÃO booed when Misericordia EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustão Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Misericordia EC's Faustão Diniz in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.A. RIBEIRÃO's goalie prevented a goal. Oséas Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Leão having to interfere. Léo Leão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oséas Gomes's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oséas Gomes in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Léo Leão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Léo Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséas Gomes in the 27th minute of the match. Aberama Gold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Léo Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Gomes in the 39th minute of play forced Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Léo Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Oséas Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oséas Gomes made a kick off. Aberama Gold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Leão having to interfere. In the 54th minute Faustão Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shi Yong Xiang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Bebeto Félix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valdir de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th minute of the match Jan Vertonghen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Shi Yong Xiang skillfully saved the ball. With an all-out effort, C.A. RIBEIRÃO's Léo Leão threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oséas Gomes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Shi Yong Xiang came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Misericordia EC's Zico Maravilha. But to his dismay, Zico Maravilha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 79th minute Renan Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shi Yong Xiang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 played minutes C.A. RIBEIRÃO got a freekick which was hit by Bebeto Félix. After having played for 85 minutes, Faustão Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Misericordia EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faustão Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 87 played minutes C.A. RIBEIRÃO got a freekick which was hit by Valdir de Amaral. Oséas Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
