Eulalio Montrel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiso Posse, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Márcio Cruz's late challenge caught a GynBsb's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Márcio Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Atlético-PR's Márcio Cruz got a free kick in the 18th minute. Eulalio Montrel came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by GynBsb's Fellipe Cosme. But to his dismay, Fellipe Cosme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 29th minute, Fellipe Cosme left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GynBsb fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 31 minutes into the match, Atlético-PR's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo Fernandes came free, but Eulalio Montrel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fellipe Cosme in the 32nd minute of play forced Atlético-PR's goalkeeper Eulalio Montrel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedrinho Hoffmann in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The supporters of GynBsb booed when Atlético-PR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fellipe Cosme to make the kick off. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frederico Bertassi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Atlético-PR got a corner. GynBsb's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eugênio Azevedo ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vivaldo Fernandes in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eulalio Montrel saved Atlético-PR from getting behind. Eulalio Montrel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fellipe Cosme in the 65th minute of play. Perivaldo Sampaio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frederico Bertassi having to make a save. Atlético-PR's Hong Jian Fan was substituted for Pedrinho Hoffmann. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Atlético-PR fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. GynBsb were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
