Itapeipu AD's Silvinho Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romelio Lukaku in the 23rd minute of play. 23 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Real Brasília FC - DMZ's Romelio Lukaku fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 26th match minute, Real Brasília FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Armindo Maltez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belmiro Quadros in the 26th minute. Itapeipu AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romelio Lukaku was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greg Marshall in the 46th minute of play forced Real Brasília FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Armindo Maltez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvinho Monteiro came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Brasília FC - DMZ's Romelio Lukaku. But to his dismay, Romelio Lukaku quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bebeto de Carvalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Itapeipu AD's Luiz Paulo Moraes got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 59 minutes into the match, Real Brasília FC - DMZ's Yoncho Spaskov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silvinho Monteiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Real Brasília FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Greg Marshall came free, but Armindo Maltez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romelio Lukaku received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Silvinho Monteiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Romelio Lukaku slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 68th minute. Armindo Maltez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bebeto de Carvalho in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 87th of the match, Yoncho Spaskov tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Silvinho Monteiro got in the way and made a wonderful save. After a rather tough play, Itapeipu AD's Vitinho Leite got a free kick in the 90th minute. After 91 played minutes Itapeipu AD got a freekick which was hit by Vitinho Leite. When Itapeipu AD's Greg Marshall in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Chants of Real Brasília FC - DMZ echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Itapeipu AD had held the ball for most of the match.
