After 4 minutes Limoeiro-PE FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Pancu who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Pancu made a great header on La Zorro Negro's corner, it was just that Limoeiro-PE FC's Daniël De Goeij managed to reach the ball for a save. With a little luck, Limoeiro-PE FC's Daniël De Goeij got control of the ball when Rigoberto Piearres tried to sneak it across the goal line. La Zorro Negro's José Luis Heidemann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Fontes in the 13th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, La Zorro Negro's goal looked a bit too open when Gino do Valle came free, but José Luis Heidemann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Rigoberto Piearres kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Daniël De Goeij. That made the score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. After 32 minutes La Zorro Negro's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Doni Barbosa who took care of the corner kick. Daniël De Goeij showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Pancu, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 34 played minutes La Zorro Negro got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Andrade. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Limoeiro-PE FC's goalkeeper Daniël De Goeij, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the match La Zorro Negro got a corner. Limoeiro-PE FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Pancu ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Fabrício De León got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Daniël De Goeij quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Limoeiro-PE FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Pancu was slow to take the kick. During this time La Zorro Negro's players had a chance to rest. With a little luck, Limoeiro-PE FC's Daniël De Goeij got control of the ball when Rigoberto Piearres tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, La Zorro Negro's Rigoberto Piearres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daniël De Goeij narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 46th minute La Zorro Negro were awarded a corner. Daniel Pancu went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Daniel Pancu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Limoeiro-PE FC's Daniël De Goeij did a great save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

La Zorro Negro's Diguinho Rossi was substituted for Eduardo de Barros. Daniël De Goeij made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Piearres in the 55th minute of play. Daniël De Goeij took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Pancu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Rigoberto Piearres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniël De Goeij was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 65th minute, Gino do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Luis Heidemann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Lozovan in the 67th minute of play. Robert Lozovan took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Luis Heidemann. José Luis Heidemann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Gino do Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. José Luis Heidemann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Limoeiro-PE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rigoberto Piearres came free, but Daniël De Goeij reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, La Zorro Negro's José Luis Heidemann got control of the ball when Gino do Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hélio Andrade hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Limoeiro-PE FC made a substitution. Edgar Cabral replaced Gino do Valle. A collision led to La Zorro Negro getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Hélio Andrade hit a great ball. La Zorro Negro's Hélio Andrade managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Richard Neto in the 81 minute of the game. Richard Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Limoeiro-PE FC's Daniël De Goeij played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Piearres in the 86th minute of play. José Luis Heidemann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Lozovan in the 89th minute of play. After 95 minutes of play, La Zorro Negro's Rigoberto Piearres made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniël De Goeij was left in no man's land by his defense there! Limoeiro-PE FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
