The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Santiago Futebol Clube booed when Cambaratiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilson Neiva hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Cambaratiba's Augustin Hauerholt quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Nico Bueno, made in the 10th minute of the game. Stanislaw Lichucki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauan Favoretto in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Cambaratiba's Wellington Paraíba dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauan Favoretto in the 20th minute of play forced Cambaratiba's goalkeeper Stanislaw Lichucki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wellington Paraíba in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dan Cambridge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stanislaw Lichucki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teo Roano in the 34th minute of play. Santiago Futebol Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Enrique Arósio in the 35th minute. Santiago Futebol Clube's Nico Bueno was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Stanislaw Lichucki in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 35 minutes, Nico Bueno made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cambaratiba's Stanislaw Lichucki tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Stanislaw Lichucki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cauan Favoretto went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Santiago Futebol Clube's Nico Bueno got a free kick in the 44th minute. Stanislaw Lichucki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauan Favoretto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Santiago Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Dan Cambridge, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Wellington Paraíba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dan Cambridge was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cauan Favoretto got free with Stanislaw Lichucki in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stanislaw Lichucki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cauan Favoretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Teo Roano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santiago Futebol Clube made a substitution. Lorenzo Santa María replaced Cauan Favoretto. After 76 played minutes Santiago Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Zanette. Lorenzo Santa María hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. When Cambaratiba's Marin Giubelean in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Santiago Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Dan Cambridge didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marin Giubelean went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Cambaratiba's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
