The audience thought a goal was coming when Enéas Pereira got free with Dan Cambridge in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dan Cambridge made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Enéas Pereira sent off a good shot on target. In the 4th minute Cláudio Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Cambridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cláudio Pimenta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dan Cambridge came out and tried to block the shot, but Cláudio Pimenta slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Faustino Gerazan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When SALIMEN's Cláudio Pimenta in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saturnino Gartzea in the 28th minute of play forced Santiago Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Dan Cambridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Ulisses Sabóia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SALIMEN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Cláudio Pimenta did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 4-0 to the left of a surprised Dan Cambridge 35 minutes into the match. Elói Miranda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enrique Arósio's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 45th match minute, Santiago Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berthold Borgi to maneuver through the defense. After 46 minutes of play, SALIMEN's Cláudio Pimenta made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dan Cambridge was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The SALIMEN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Enrique Arósio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Elói Miranda made a huge save. Dan Cambridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enéas Pereira in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, Santiago Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ove Ödman to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Gerazan in the 66th minute of play forced Santiago Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Dan Cambridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Ulisses Sabóia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dan Cambridge was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. When the referee ended the match the SALIMEN players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
