Spectators: 7966 (Terracing: 5976, Seating: 1832, VIP seats: 158) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After 28 played minutes Brazil Academy got a freekick which was hit by Gildo Braga. After 29 played minutes, Ypiranga FC's Arlindo Meireles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcelo Mangueira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ypiranga FC reached it. Ypiranga FC were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Brazil Academy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arlindo Meireles took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Amaral in the 31st minute of play forced Ypiranga FC's goalkeeper Petre Porumboiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute Romeu Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Mangueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Gică Leucuța ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Mangueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. A collision led to Ypiranga FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Gică Leucuța hit a great ball. Petre Porumboiu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Amaral in the 44th minute. Roberto-Carlos Neymar kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The Brazil Academy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ypiranga FC were winning 1-5.

After a rather tough play, Ypiranga FC's Dorival Dantas got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Petre Porumboiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Mangueira made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Romeu Guedes sent off a good shot on target. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ypiranga FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
