Ian Jesswein charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ian Jesswein the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute of the match Frexeirinha got a corner. Rio Pardo MZC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zé Vides ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 29thth minute of the game Guto Sanches who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rio Pardo MZC's Luís Guilherme Aparecido was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Rio Pardo MZC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Victor Berti hit a great ball. After 33 minutes, Geraldo Pena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Frexeirinha and the Rio Pardo MZC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 35 minutes into the match, Frexeirinha's goal looked a bit too open when Enéas Lago came free, but Ciro Terra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 3-0 became the score in the 35th minute when Enéas Lago elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Rio Pardo MZC booed when Frexeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Godín didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, one of Rio Pardo MZC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rio Pardo MZC. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Ciro Terra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Lalatu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frexeirinha's Ciro Terra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faruk Nafiz Hayal in the 54th minute of play. José Pedro Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafinha Veloso in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal.
