Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olivier Gilg in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabiano Saldanha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Esperança FC's Fabiano Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Esperança FC from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, DIPLOMATA FC PAB's Fabiano Saldanha threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roberto Lopes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Fabiano Saldanha. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andrézinho das Neves to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 93rd minute Délio Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niculae Martinescu struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Fabiano Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DIPLOMATA FC PAB. Fabiano Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio Furtado in the 95th minute of play. After 96 played minutes Esperança FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís de Moraes. Fabiano Saldanha came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by DIPLOMATA FC PAB's Roberto Lopes. But to his dismay, Roberto Lopes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The DIPLOMATA FC PAB fans cheered their team off the field, for while Esperança FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
