Juvenal Camargo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 4th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Gilmar Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. MEL - ULTIMATE's Jailson Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henrique Arruda made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Gilmar Couto sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Gilvan Falcão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo MZRJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilvan Falcão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrique Arruda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 26 played minutes Botafogo MZRJ got a freekick which was hit by Serginho Azevedo. Férid Khalifa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When Yuri Pires came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the MEL - ULTIMATE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yuri Pires couldn't finish the play. Férid Khalifa came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by MEL - ULTIMATE's Nilmar Garcia. But to his dismay, Nilmar Garcia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 43rd minute Botafogo MZRJ were awarded a corner. Álvaro Melo went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Gilvan Falcão got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Henrique Arruda quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 46 minutes into the game, Egídio Donato threw the ball into play from the sideline. Botafogo MZRJ's Juvenal Camargo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

51 minutes into the match, MEL - ULTIMATE's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Lara came free, but Henrique Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrique Arruda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilmar Couto's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. If Gilmar Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Férid Khalifa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jailson Fernandez in the 61st minute. Jailson Fernandez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Férid Khalifa having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as MEL - ULTIMATE's Jailson Fernandez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Férid Khalifa. That made the score 0-2 after 64 minutes of play. After 70 minutes, Alberto Novaes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo MZRJ and the MEL - ULTIMATE players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alberto Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Botafogo MZRJ's Férid Khalifa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Botafogo MZRJ from getting a goal against them. MEL - ULTIMATE's Henrique Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Couto in the 77th minute of play. If Gilmar Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Botafogo MZRJ's Gilmar Couto in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MEL - ULTIMATE's goalie prevented a goal. After 87 played minutes Nilmar Garcia rounded Botafogo MZRJ's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. In the 94th minute, Yuri Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 minutes of play, Botafogo MZRJ's Jailson Capixaba made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Henrique Arruda was left in no man's land by his defense there! The MEL - ULTIMATE players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
