The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fran Guerola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Koos Warringa hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Iurie Chiriacescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 39th minute Baturhan Oytun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fran Guerola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ove Lindblom in the 40th minute of play. Iurie Chiriacescu made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Eliézer de Queirós sent off a good shot on target. Fran Guerola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Trancoso in the 45th minute of play. The S O B E R A N O CIMZ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. PIAUÍ FC were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ove Lindblom was the one to do the kick off. Fran Guerola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vladimir de Sena in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guga Trancoso in the 77th minute of play forced S O B E R A N O CIMZ's goalkeeper Fran Guerola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iurie Chiriacescu came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by S O B E R A N O CIMZ's Ove Lindblom. But to his dismay, Ove Lindblom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 김 돈 in the 85th minute of play. Fran Guerola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir de Sena in the 90th minute of play. Mete Gøl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Fran Guerola when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The S O B E R A N O CIMZ supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching PIAUÍ FC's performance. The match ended with a win for PIAUÍ FC.
