Epaminondas Baba blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pancracio Paniagua having to make a save. Ma Kuan Yun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pancracio Paniagua read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Petr Čech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victorio Pabla in the 21st minute. In the 27th minute, Ma Kuan Yun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. POPULAR F.C's Victorio Pabla got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victorio Pabla to strike the kick off in the second half. Petr Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorio Pabla in the 56th minute of play. Arnaldo Tróia came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pancracio Paniagua could save by the left post. After 64 minutes POPULAR F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vânderson Vasconcelos who took care of the corner kick.
