Callegari's Clemente Medeiros quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 32nd minute, Angel Isusko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baldomero Hermon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rubinho Lago having to make a save. In the 40th minute of the match, Fred Monteiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hansjörg Wastl was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 43rd match minute, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paolo Argi to maneuver through the defense. Callegari's Rubinho Lago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Borges in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

57 minutes into the match, Henrique Borges dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rubinho Lago, 1-1. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ made a substitution. Edu Carvalho replaced Henrique Borges. After having played for 63 minutes, Jânio Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Callegari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jânio Loureiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taco Van Der Hoorn in the 74th minute of play forced Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's goalkeeper Hansjörg Wastl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edu Carvalho in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho Lago saved Callegari from getting behind. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Callegari's goalkeeper Rubinho Lago, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Edu Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rubinho Lago narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edu Carvalho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Rubinho Lago when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rubinho Lago made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edu Carvalho in the 95th minute. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Hansjörg Wastl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taco Van Der Hoorn in the 96th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
