The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Hansjörg Wastl got control of the ball when Neycho Mudrov tried to sneak it across the goal line. 5 minutes into the game, Henrique Borges cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Péter Pálffy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 8 minutes into the match, Capivara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomero Hermon came free, but Péter Pálffy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 10 minutes Capivara FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Naldo Valladares who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Pedro Geromel got a free kick in the 11th minute. Hansjörg Wastl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinícius Junior, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 1-1 became the score in the 17th minute when Doriva Tavares elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Doriva Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Hansjörg Wastl made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doriva Tavares got free with Hansjörg Wastl in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Henrique Borges blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Péter Pálffy having to make a save. Péter Pálffy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Borges in the 26th minute of play. Capivara FC's Péter Pálffy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Borges in the 27th minute of play. 32 minutes in the game Bogumil Andrzejewski did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Vinícius Junior. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Hansjörg Wastl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ from getting a goal against them. 33 minutes into the match, Vinícius Junior dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hansjörg Wastl, 2-1. 38 minutes into the match, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's goalkeeper Hansjörg Wastl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doriva Tavares. Doriva Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Hansjörg Wastl made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Hermon in the 39th minute of play forced Capivara FC's goalkeeper Péter Pálffy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doriva Tavares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hansjörg Wastl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vinícius Junior to make the kick off. Hansjörg Wastl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Tavares in the 50th minute of the match. In the 52nd minute, one of Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ. Henrique Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Doriva Tavares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hansjörg Wastl was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinícius Junior in the 63rd minute of play forced Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's goalkeeper Hansjörg Wastl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Neycho Mudrov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Hansjörg Wastl was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 69th minute Doriva Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hansjörg Wastl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hansjörg Wastl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neycho Mudrov in the 73rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doriva Tavares in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hansjörg Wastl saved Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ from getting behind. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Emiel Desmet was substituted for Naldo Valladares. 96 minutes into the match, Neycho Mudrov notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Hansjörg Wastl. Hansjörg Wastl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Capivara FC fully deserved thier win.
