After having played for 19 minutes, Jeremias Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ცơყʂ ɠơƖɖ ʂ.ƈ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeremias Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolando Chaime made a great header on ცơყʂ ɠơƖɖ ʂ.ƈ's corner, it was just that S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Aurelio Walme managed to reach the ball for a save. ცơყʂ ɠơƖɖ ʂ.ƈ were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after S.E.R. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Renato Vidal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul defense, Régis Madureira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aurelio Walme. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurelio Walme should have stopped the shot.

Renato Vidal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovani Medeiros went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Aurelio Walme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustaquio Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Xicu Cuadrado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th match minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Siekkötter to maneuver through the defense. Geovani Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovani Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th minute, Geovani Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
