Epifanio Mogel came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Leonides Petrigai. But to his dismay, Leonides Petrigai quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Damaso Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Gonzalo Tello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Calabacilla. Damaso Pedroso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonzalo Tello having to interfere. The River Plate fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when River Plate's Leonides Petrigai looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Damaso Pedroso sped through River Plate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gonzalo Tello. Damaso Pedroso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Gonzalo Tello made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Damaso Pedroso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gonzalo Tello. That made the score 2-3 in the 39 minute of play. In the 44th minute Leonides Petrigai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Mogel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeo Savier hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the game, one of Club Atlético Calabacilla:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Epifanio Mogel had in the 48thth minute some difficulties stopping Leonides Petrigai's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.

In the 57th minute, Luisito Iraido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esteban Palos charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Esteban Palos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. River Plate's Emiliano Mattin was substituted for Samuel Elija. Esteban Palos hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Calabacilla's goal looked a bit too open when Leonides Petrigai came free, but Epifanio Mogel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Epifanio Mogel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonides Petrigai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Club Atlético Calabacilla getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Venancio Matthew hit a great ball. After 78 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Petrigai. In the 83rdth minute of the game Damaso Pedroso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Plate's Gonzalo Tello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th match minute, Club Atlético Calabacilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeo Savier to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Petrigai in the 86th minute of play forced Club Atlético Calabacilla's goalkeeper Epifanio Mogel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonzalo Tello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damaso Pedroso's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. In the 91st minute Damaso Pedroso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Tello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
