Sportivo Italiano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Defensa y Justicia the free kick. In the 15th minute, Amador Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guillermo Justin in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Francis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Sportivo Italiano's Elpidio Urbes in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Defensa y Justicia's goalie prevented a goal. 20 minutes into the match, Defensa y Justicia's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Urbes came free, but Baltasar Clementi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donato Costante hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Elpidio Urbes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sportivo Italiano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of Defensa y Justicia booed when Sportivo Italiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Amaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato Costante charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Costante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sportivo Italiano booed when Defensa y Justicia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Costante didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gerardo Telesforo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Gerardo Telesforo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltasar Clementi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Sportivo Italiano were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guillermo Justin to strike the kick off in the second half. Elpidio Urbes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltasar Clementi having to interfere. Defensa y Justicia's Baltasar Clementi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Telesforo in the 57th minute of play. Froilan Iliana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Rolando Francis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donato Costante kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. If Elpidio Urbes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltasar Clementi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Telesforo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Defensa y Justicia's Baltasar Clementi got control of the ball when Elpidio Urbes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodolfo Ubarna hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute of the match, Elpidio Urbes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Baltasar Clementi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Sportivo Italiano getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Blas Amaya hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elpidio Urbes got free with Baltasar Clementi in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 89 minutes, Gerardo Telesforo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sportivo Italiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Telesforo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baltasar Clementi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Telesforo, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Defensa y Justicia's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gerardo Telesforo 94 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. When the final whistle sounded Sportivo Italiano left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Defensa y Justicia.
