The audience was convinced that Hernan Baladi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raimundo Elizardo was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Palermo FC's Raimundo Elizardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Abad in the 42nd minute of play. After the first half Juve were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernan Baladi to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Palermo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lisandro Abad came free, but Raimundo Elizardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juve's Lisandro Abad got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elvio Bizen charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernan Baladi in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raimundo Elizardo saved Palermo FC from getting behind. 65 minutes into the game, Robustiano Paul cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Raimundo Elizardo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Robustiano Paul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Hernan Baladi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernan Baladi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raimundo Elizardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Lisandro Abad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lisandro Abad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
