Modesto Cresenciano kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. When Modesto Cresenciano came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Gimnasia MZA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modesto Cresenciano couldn't finish the play. Edgard Eufrasio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gimnasia MZA's Ivan Beila proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Gimnasia MZA from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Santikurtz in the 33rd minute of play forced Gimnasia MZA's goalkeeper Ivan Beila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 minutes, Modesto Cresenciano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gimnasia MZA and the Pedernera players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gimnasia MZA's Modesto Cresenciano got a free kick in the 35th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aaron Santikurtz to strike the kick off in the second half. Gimnasia MZA's attentive Vladimiro Itzaina managed to snatch the ball when Gerardo Tximitx made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. Gimnasia MZA's Modesto Cresenciano was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 60th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 67 minutes into the game, Aaron Santikurtz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ivan Beila was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Gimnasia MZA defense, Honorato Monico kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Beila. The Gimnasia MZA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Beila should have stopped the shot. Emilio Ebardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Beila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Santikurtz in the 81st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Modesto Cresenciano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimnasia MZA's supporters rose to their feet, but Modesto Cresenciano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Ascencio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Gimnasia MZA getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Modesto Cresenciano hit a great ball. Modesto Cresenciano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Carlos Ascencio made a huge save. Alfredo Canor made in the 95th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Honorato Monico. Modesto Cresenciano scored 2-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Ascencio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gimnasia MZA were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
