Ivan Beila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Paublo in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Gualterio Ricart was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garcia Neivirt's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gimnasia MZA the free kick. In the 9th minute, Gualterio Ricart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Garcia Neivirt's Ermegildo Caetano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Garcia Neivirt from getting a goal against them. After having played for 15 minutes, Edgard Eufrasio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia MZA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Eufrasio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Modesto Cresenciano took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ermegildo Caetano. Ermegildo Caetano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Ermegildo Caetano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emilio Ebardo in the 23rd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 24 minutes into the game, when Celedonio Colon put in a rough tackle. Celedonio Colon hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 26th match minute, Gimnasia MZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Modesto Cresenciano to maneuver through the defense. Modesto Cresenciano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermegildo Caetano having to interfere. In the 44thth minute of the game Modesto Cresenciano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garcia Neivirt's Ermegildo Caetano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Emilio Ebardo came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Gimnasia MZA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilio Ebardo couldn't finish the play. Modesto Cresenciano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Ermegildo Caetano made a huge save.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Modesto Cresenciano in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ermegildo Caetano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gimnasia MZA's Edgard Eufrasio got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cirilo Oliviero hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. A collision led to Gimnasia MZA getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Edgard Eufrasio hit a great ball. Ivan Beila made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Fernando Dominguez sent off a good shot on target. 63 minutes into the match, Gimnasia MZA's goalkeeper Ivan Beila had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clodoveo Iratze. After having played for 67 minutes, Modesto Cresenciano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia MZA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Modesto Cresenciano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ermegildo Caetano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgard Eufrasio went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Modesto Cresenciano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ermegildo Caetano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benigno Toribio made in the 75th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Gimnasia MZA's Edgard Eufrasio. When Modesto Cresenciano came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Gimnasia MZA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modesto Cresenciano couldn't finish the play. When the referee ended the match the Gimnasia MZA players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
