The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Konstanty Pietrowicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Cipriano Qwinton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th match minute, Nuevo San Pedro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Sazon to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Atilano Cilio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Nuevo San Pedro getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Faustino Dolfo hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Por Simpre Leo's Ermegildo Loi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ermegildo Loi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Por Simpre Leo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ermegildo Loi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Por Simpre Leo! In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Nuevo San Pedro. Bruno Sazon stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Atilano Cilio. 1-0. In the 36th minute, Filiberto Jurgi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filiberto Jurgi struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Cipriano Qwinton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Por Simpre Leo. A collision led to Por Simpre Leo getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Gabriel Goiz hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armando Berto made a kick off. Zeledon Rioja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cipriano Qwinton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filiberto Jurgi in the 59th minute. When Por Simpre Leo's Filiberto Jurgi in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nuevo San Pedro's goalie prevented a goal. Zeledon Rioja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute Filiberto Jurgi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cipriano Qwinton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Por Simpre Leo's Zeledon Rioja got a free kick in the 82nd minute. If Zeledon Rioja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Zeledon Rioja came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Por Simpre Leo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeledon Rioja couldn't finish the play. Zeledon Rioja struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Cipriano Qwinton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Por Simpre Leo. 90 minutes into the game, Florencio Henric was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nuevo San Pedro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Por Simpre Leo the free kick. In the 91st minute, Florencio Henric hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the game, Filiberto Jurgi lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Cipriano Qwinton. Por Simpre Leo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
