Romulo Burutzagi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romulo Eron, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. If Nemesio Bermudez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romulo Burutzagi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustin Erroman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute, Nemesio Bermudez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romulo Burutzagi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 24 minutes into the match, Columbus Crew's Teobaldo Gilabert broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 25th minute, Roman Dei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 played minutes c.a.excursionistas got a freekick which was hit by Justus Siebe. c.a.excursionistas's Romulo Burutzagi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nemesio Bermudez in the 33rd minute of play. Maximino Cordaryal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Salvador Ofelio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ezequiel Lastur during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes Columbus Crew got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Lastur.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anastasio Gorri to strike the kick off in the second half. Salvador Ofelio didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when c.a.excursionistas's Maximino Cordaryal shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. c.a.excursionistas's Romulo Burutzagi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Erroman in the 60th minute of play. After 62 played minutes, Columbus Crew's Teobaldo Gilabert shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Romulo Burutzagi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Columbus Crew reached it. c.a.excursionistas's Maximino Cordaryal got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Salvador Ofelio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anibal Alfonso went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After 74 minutes, Patricio Vimaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Columbus Crew and the c.a.excursionistas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Columbus Crew was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Vimaro to maneuver through the defense. Maximino Cordaryal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When c.a.excursionistas's Anibal Alfonso in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Columbus Crew's goalie prevented a goal. Columbus Crew's Patricio Vimaro pulled a muscle in his leg after 79 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jaime Belmiro kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Anibal Alfonso struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Salvador Ofelio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for c.a.excursionistas. Maximino Cordaryal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salvador Ofelio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Anibal Alfonso put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Salvador Ofelio. Salvador Ofelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Cordaryal, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
