The audience was convinced that Baldomero Distiratsu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benedicto Handi was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. After the first half Cañuelas were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baldomero Distiratsu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Distiratsu in the 70th minute of play forced Cañuelas's goalkeeper Benedicto Handi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldomero Distiratsu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedicto Handi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. In the 76th minute Baldomero Distiratsu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedicto Handi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Nacional AFC's goalkeeper Esteve Mederi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vladimiro Mikolas. With a little luck, Nacional AFC's Esteve Mederi got control of the ball when Vladimiro Mikolas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eustaquio Jesco hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, Cañuelas's Vladimiro Mikolas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esteve Mederi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Baldomero Distiratsu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Handi having to interfere. Benedicto Handi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio Cosme in the 94th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Nacional AFC had played much better football throughout.
