Celedonio Dominic's late challenge caught a SAN DIEGO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A throw-in in the 37th minute of the game was made by Ernesto Pacifico with Venancio Gelacio as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Celestino Gorri lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Capdevila's goal looked a bit too open when Anastasio Domeka came free, but Florentino Arias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Leopoldo Burutzagi fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SAN DIEGO's protests and gave Leopoldo Burutzagi a yellow card for diving instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliberto Loreto made a kick off. Capdevila's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SAN DIEGO the free kick. If Leopoldo Burutzagi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anastasio Domeka in the 93rd minute of play forced Capdevila's goalkeeper Florentino Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo Burutzagi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
