Benjamin Salomon scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulino Olivar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Luis Urrutia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulino Olivar. That made the score 2-0 in the 7 minute of play. With a little luck, san lorenzo's Paulino Olivar got control of the ball when Baldomero Domingues tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of san lorenzo booed when Lagunillas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Hajto didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to san lorenzo getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Cayetano Bero hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Ulises Dei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignacio Herena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulino Olivar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Urrutia in the 21st minute of the match. Ulises Dei kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Luis Urrutia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lagunillas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Esteve Juvenal's late challenge caught a san lorenzo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esteve Juvenal helped the player get up and apologised. Esteve Juvenal hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute of the match, Luis Urrutia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paulino Olivar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 38 minutes into the game, Lagunillas's Luis Urrutia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulino Olivar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 43rd minute, Vladimiro Lalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Luis Urrutia came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Lagunillas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Urrutia couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ulises Dei to make the kick off. If Nunez Jakobe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 59 minutes of play, Lagunillas's Luis Urrutia made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulino Olivar was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpected shot in the 64th minute by Ulises Dei got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Paulino Olivar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baldomero Domingues went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. 77 minutes into the match, Saul Calvino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulino Olivar. san lorenzo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saul Calvino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomero Domingues in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulino Olivar saved san lorenzo from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Urrutia in the 82nd minute of play forced san lorenzo's goalkeeper Paulino Olivar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Baldomero Domingues made a precise shot to the right of Paulino Olivar. san lorenzo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Paulino Olivar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geronimo Quiroga in the 87th minute of play. Roberto Tiniebra kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Paulino Olivar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomero Domingues in the 92nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomero Domingues in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulino Olivar saved san lorenzo from getting behind. When the referee ended the match the Lagunillas players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
