Sixto Macias was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of JuVeNtUd AnToNiAnA booed when Vélez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Sanchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Agapito Marquez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez Sarsfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. When Vélez Sarsfield's Agapito Marquez in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee felt a red card was in order, 22 minutes into the game, when Arsenio Vidal put in a rough tackle. 22 minutes into the game, one of JuVeNtUd AnToNiAnA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Agapito Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Sixto Macias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Amancio Aguirre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sixto Macias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agapito Marquez in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Rodolfo Pello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sixto Macias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Machado Villafane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, JuVeNtUd AnToNiAnA's goal looked a bit too open when Agapito Marquez came free, but Sixto Macias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Machado Villafane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sixto Macias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agapito Marquez's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. After the first half Vélez Sarsfield were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Machado Villafane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zacarias Gil charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zacarias Gil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zacarias Gil hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. If Machado Villafane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Vélez Sarsfield's Agapito Marquez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sixto Macias. Sixto Macias yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Jacobo Iraitz hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Machado Villafane struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Sixto Macias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vélez Sarsfield. JuVeNtUd AnToNiAnA's Sixto Macias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agapito Marquez in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Rodolfo Pello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the JuVeNtUd AnToNiAnA defense, Machado Villafane kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sixto Macias. The JuVeNtUd AnToNiAnA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sixto Macias should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in JuVeNtUd AnToNiAnA's zone, Machado Villafane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Macias came out of the goal and Machado Villafane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sixto Macias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agapito Marquez's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Vélez Sarsfield left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than JuVeNtUd AnToNiAnA.
