When Benedicto Erruki came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedicto Erruki couldn't finish the play. Silvano Galoer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Augusto Jurdan having to make a save. With a little luck, Obanta AFC's Augusto Jurdan got control of the ball when Silvano Galoer tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Obanta AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Leobardo came free, but Augusto Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hernan Leobardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Jurdan having to interfere. Silvano Galoers short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Augusto Jurdan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Augusto Jurdan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Leobardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ignacio Librado made a kick off. Juan Orlondo's late challenge caught a Racing Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Orlondo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Racing Club booed when Obanta AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Orlondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Benedicto Erruki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvano Galoer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Jurdan having to interfere. Augusto Jurdan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Leobardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Obanta AFC's zone, Hernan Leobardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Jurdan came out of the goal and Hernan Leobardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvano Galoer in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augusto Jurdan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hernan Leobardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Augusto Jurdan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Jurdan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedicto Erruki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Racing Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ariel Pio in the 76th minute. Racing Club's Ariel Pio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Augusto Jurdan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Augusto Jurdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvano Galoer in the 90th minute of play.
