Santos Mambru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Arano, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. When Sebastian Estavan fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.A. Recoleta's protests and gave Sebastian Estavan a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes Racing FC got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Aritza. When Maximo Taurino came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the A.A. Recoleta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximo Taurino couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of A.A. Recoleta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Racing FC:s goal. In the 19th minute, Marco Xabel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Leoiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22nd minute, A.A. Recoleta's Maximo Taurino ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Miguel Ovando. Miguel Ovando yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Cirilo Pancho scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Santos Mambru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 32nd minute, Maximo Taurino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 1-2 became the score in the 38th minute when Dino Antunes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Baldomiro Celino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cirilo Pancho to strike the kick off in the second half. Alexis Serantes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Santos Mambru made a huge save.
