Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Lixandro in the 5th minute of play forced Deportivo DMM's goalkeeper Petar Filchovski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Tobias Atarrabi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo DMM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca Juniors the free kick. In the 13th minute, Tobias Atarrabi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Deportivo DMM's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Lixandro came free, but Petar Filchovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boca Juniors's Justo Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casimiro Lesardo in the 22nd minute of play. Petar Filchovski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Lixandro in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th minute Rogelio Lixandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petar Filchovski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Ovidio Bide ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petar Filchovski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 34 minutes, Gustavo Iraunkor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo DMM and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Deportivo DMM's Gustavo Iraunkor got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute Casimiro Lesardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Deportivo DMM booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogelio Lixandro didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Justo Nicholas managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Deportivo DMM's Lucas Gorka fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 42nd minute of the match, Evelio Gotzon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Justo Nicholas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Evelio Gotzon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogelio Lixandro to maneuver through the defense. The Deportivo DMM players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Boca Juniors were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Jedrzej Chazon made the kick off in the second half. In the 66th minute, Deportivo DMM's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Helge Hejn fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ovidio Bide kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Bide to maneuver through the defense. Petar Filchovski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jedrzej Chazon, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute, Ovidio Bide got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Justo Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Gorka in the 82nd minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Jedrzej Chazon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Petar Filchovski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Lucas Gorka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evelio Gotzon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Justo Nicholas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Boca Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
