Gerardo Rameriz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Jerico in the 5th minute of the match. Esteban Fagondo kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Jerico came free, but Gerardo Rameriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerardo Rameriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteban Fagondo in the 14th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Juan Funes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Funes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfredo Lain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joel Jerico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Fagondo in the 20th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Gerardo Rameriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Licerio to maneuver through the defense. Danilo Manex, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Juan Funes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Wilfredo Lain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Jerico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Rameriz having to interfere. After 37 minutes of play, Luján AFC's Nicanor Birila made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerardo Rameriz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 40 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Juan Funes. Luján AFC's Esteban Fagondo got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Boca Juniors's Gerardo Rameriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteban Fagondo in the 46th minute of play. The Boca Juniors players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Luján AFC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juan Funes made a kick off. If Juan Funes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Fagondo in the 58th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Gerardo Rameriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Funes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Wilfredo Lain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, Luján AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicanor Birila to maneuver through the defense. Boca Juniors's Gerardo Rameriz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. After 68 played minutes Luján AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nicanor Birila. In a very dangerous position, a player in Luján AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! 73 minutes into the game, Esteban Fagondo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luján AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca Juniors the free kick. After a rather tough play, Luján AFC's Esteban Fagondo got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Wilfredo Lain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Funes, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. When Esteban Fagondo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Luján AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esteban Fagondo couldn't finish the play. Gerardo Rameriz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nicanor Birila showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 90 minute of play. After 93 played minutes Luján AFC got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Fagondo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Fagondo in the 97th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Gerardo Rameriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Boca Juniors supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Luján AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Luján AFC.
