The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Gustavo Martxel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perruneo F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Martxel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Faron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cesar Procopio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Elodio in the 14th minute of play forced Perruneo F.C's goalkeeper Laureano Dabi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gustavo Martxel came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Perruneo F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Martxel couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the game, Serafin Lawrence cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rolando Faron was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th minute, Cesar Procopio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 29 minutes, Julio Elodio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lolog's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Elodio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Julio Elodio came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Lolog fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Elodio couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute, Elias Resto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Resto in the 37th minute of play forced Lolog's goalkeeper Rolando Faron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Julio Elodio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th match minute, Perruneo F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Jerrald to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julio Elodio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Perruneo F.C got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Jerrald. After 58 played minutes, Lolog's Gogo Precioso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Laureano Dabi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lolog reached it. Julio Elodio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Dabi having to interfere. Julio Elodio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Laureano Dabi having to make a save. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Perruneo F.C! Gogo Precioso shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When Marcelino Gurutz fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Perruneo F.C's protests and gave Marcelino Gurutz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Perruneo F.C's Marcelino Gurutz got a free kick in the 74th minute. With his leg Rolando Faron managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Perruneo F.C's Gustavo Martxel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 78 minutes Lolog's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gustavo Martxel who took care of the corner kick. In the 80th minute of the match Perruneo F.C got a corner. Lolog's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gustavo Martxel ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Cesar Procopio fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lolog's protests and gave Cesar Procopio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Lolog getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Cesar Procopio hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the game, Gogo Precioso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lolog's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perruneo F.C the free kick. The supporters of Perruneo F.C booed when Lolog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ceferino Chano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes into the game, Lolog's Gogo Precioso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Laureano Dabi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
