A hard shot by Rolando Gagriel from long distance, 12 minutes into the match, got Arturo Sein's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a defensive mix-up in San Cristobal F.C.'s zone, Tobias Leoncio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Sein came out of the goal and Tobias Leoncio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Cachiyuyu getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Fernan Lope hit a great ball. Lino Santikurtz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gervasio Jakobe's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Gervasio Jakobe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lino Santikurtz having to make a save. After having played for 46 minutes, Filiberto Tab managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cachiyuyu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filiberto Tab was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
