But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aaron Cordarrell couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute, Mateo Castel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Joel da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saturnino Larra in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximiliano Santo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The throw-in from Silvestre Urtats in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by VIRUS K AFC's Ladislao Azubeli. The crowd rose to their feet as Joel da Costa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amador Flores. That made the score 1-0 in the 38 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Joel da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amador Flores having to interfere. Saturnino Larra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximiliano Santo having to interfere. If Joel da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Cordarrell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amador Flores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After 78 minutes, Joel da Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VIRUS K AFC and the Yanimas Futbol Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yanimas Futbol Club's Rene Quexal shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 87th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Maximiliano Santo but with some difficulty. Saturnino Larra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Maximiliano Santo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
