After 14 played minutes Azul y Oro FC got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Gines. Azul y Oro FC's Tiburcio Evangelista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Nicholas in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Rancul's Abel Tirso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tiburcio Evangelista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 29 minutes into the game, Nicanor Nicholas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rancul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Azul y Oro FC the free kick. After 29 played minutes Rancul got a freekick which was hit by Nicanor Nicholas. After a rather tough play, Azul y Oro FC's Benedicto Oliveiro got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Ezequiel Tallia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiburcio Evangelista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Guipuzkoa in the 34th minute of the match. Armando Dominguez was a little too slow when Benedicto Oliveiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 1-3. Abel Tirso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Tiburcio Evangelista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 44th minute of the match Nicanor Nicholas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nicanor Nicholas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 45 played minutes Rancul got a freekick which was hit by Nicanor Nicholas. Abel Tirso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristo Figueroa was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Abel Tirso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tiburcio Evangelista was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benedicto Oliveiro during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 played minutes Azul y Oro FC got a freekick which was hit by Benedicto Oliveiro. Rancul's David Lluques got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abel Tirso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Tiburcio Evangelista when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Rancul's Abel Tirso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tiburcio Evangelista. That made the score 1-5 after 76 minutes of play. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Azul y Oro FC's goalkeeper Tiburcio Evangelista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abel Tirso got free with Tiburcio Evangelista in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Azul y Oro FC's Tiburcio Evangelista got control of the ball when Abel Tirso tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Lluques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rancul eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
